Thin Heir

Section titled SummaryThin Heir is a magical artefact that was used by the Alagondar Family to prove which of their spawn would be the next true ruler. It glows in the presence of the rightful heir from the moment they are born.
Creation
Section titled CreationMany centuries ago; when a sickness was killing off heirs to the Alagondar Family rapidly and it seemed as if the Monarchy would fall, the other 6 Noble Families decided a mechanism would one day be needed to determine a new heir for the city. In this process; they created a platinum belt embossed with 6 links embossed with their emblems in the centre. The belt was enchanted by the High Arcanist of the Alagondar Family to allow the last living heir of the current Monarchy to elect a new heir from a different blood line. This belt was called Thin Heir.
When held by a member of one of the Noble Families, their respective link would glow. However, when held by the true heir to the throne - a seventh link would appear and complete the belt - allowing the entire belt to glow. It was never specified what would happen if a member of an existing Noble Families was chosen to be the new heir.
While Thin Air was completed it was never ever used as the Alagondar Family recovered from their sickness and regained control of the city. The item was placed in the archives for future use.
Post-Ruining
Section titled Post-RuiningAfter the believed wiping-out of the family line - Dagult Neverember came into possession of the artefact, however the item was stolen from him by the Alagondar Trust; specifically in the hands of Zomon Truthtaker.
Last recorded records show this item was being sought after by Leodel under the employ of Dagult Neverember.
