Section titled Orphaned in OltoWu Tang’s parents died when he was quite young. He was raised by Andor Stonewall; a master in weapon-based combat and head of the Gate Defense.
As a young boy; Wu loved learning martial arts with his adoptive father and fellow students/friends.
Divine Destruction
Section titled Divine DestructionShortly following his 18th birthday, Wu Tang witnessed his entire class and Andor Stonewall be slaughtered at the hands of someone with divine powers. He managed to hide effectively enough to not fall victim to the same fate, however he swore vengeance against that Champion of the Gods and the Gods as a whole that day.
The following day, a military funeral was held for all slain in the attack and the Seastone Family provided some aid for the Gate Defense during this time. Wu Tang was informed that his adoptive father’s last wish was for the boy to go and see the world. The boy took this opportunity to head South with the Seastone Family and board one of the few vessels towards Feldon.
A Hop Across the Sapphuran Sea
Section titled A Hop Across the Sapphuran SeaAfter spending over 6 months at sea and experiencing an entirely different world than he had imagined; Wu arrived in the Eira Dynasty on Feldon. During his time at sea; he realised the hard way that there was a lot more to learn about fighting than what he had been taught back home. He immediately began to seek the tutelage of wiser and stronger fighters.
His search took him to the far Northern town of Northedge; a place known for it’s strong fighters wishing to prove themselves. Over the next 7 or so years; under the guidance of a man named Shin who always worn a bone white mask over his face, Wu honed his skills and earnt himself a sturdy reputation within the arena by late 801 Ag when Shin told him about a strong Human fighter who would be arriving on the continent of Edon shortly. With Shin’s help, Wu Tang made it through the Eira Dynasty and Gilford Kingdom and onto a ship crossing the Azuran Ocean.
”A strong Human fighter will arrive in either Neverwinter or the Equinox Kingdom early next year. If you one day want to avenge those you have lost - you will find and defeat him.
Once you have beaten him, you will be strong enough to battle a champion of the Gods…” - Shin to Wu Tang
Arrival in Edon
Section titled Arrival in EdonAfter a few months of travel across the Azuran Ocean, Wu Tang arrived in Portell on the continent of Edon. He headed North towards Neverwinter passing through the Neverwinter Woods to train against the natural Fauna and improve his survival skills. On the night of his 26th birthday, he treated himself a bit too much and was overwhelmed by a pack of Goblins. Despite his inebriated state; he managed to kill a number of the creatures before succumbing to his wounds and being held captive.
Relationships
Section titled RelationshipsAndor Stonewall - Adoptive Father/Martial Arts Master
Andor Stonewall was apparently a friend of Wu Tang’s parents and discovered the boy as a child after their death. He cared for the boy like his own and trained him in the ways of weapon based combat - a specialty of his. Wu was distraught when Andor Stonewall and his colleagues were slaughtered by a Champion of the Gods and this led to his now lifelong hatred of the Gods.
Wu Tang’s Enemy - Target of his Hatred
An unknown champion of the Gods that slaughtered Wu’s friends and loved ones. He has set out to become strong enough to not only defeat this specific champion, but the entire Pantheon as well.
Shin - 2nd Martial Arts Master
Shin was a mysterious man the entire time Wu knew him but he was more than a capable fighter and presented himself with a wisdom that few others Wu had met in his life could. Shin rarely talked about himself at all but referred to his father once as “Mura, the old fool.”
Gatekeeper Marlon - Senior Colleague (former)
Gatekeeper Marlon was several years older than Wu but regularly sparred with the boy during his off time as Wu demonstrated martial prowess far beyond his years. Marlon told Wu to hide the day they were attacked by Wu Tang’s Enemy before heading into the fray. It was very likely Wu would have perished that day if not for Gatekeeper Marlon’s actions.
Captain Seastone - Temporary Captain
Captain Seastone is the head of Olto’s naval operations and was in charge of the vessel that took Wu to Feldon. He showed the young man compassion during their time at sea and tried to teach him life lessons he would have otherwise learnt from Andor Stonewall.
