Divinity
Summary
Section titled SummaryMor’Thal is home to swathe of divine beings. They each rule over different domains or areas of the mortal realm. Divine history pre-dates time-keeping on Mor’Thal so much of their history has faded into apocryphal tales.
Originally, only The Brightmother and her brothers Cator and Gavel; retroactively called the Judgement Triad ruled over Mor’Thal. However, as mortal life progressed and presented new challenges for the three; select mortals were elevated to godly status.
See Story of Origin for the full creation myth.

Triads
Section titled TriadsA naturally occurring mechanism between the Gods. They are more-or-less an informal grouping of domains but some Triads are much more rigid. The Gods have settled on the Triad mechanism to keep the number of gods involved in any one occurrence to a maximum of three. For this reason; 3 is a lucky number in many cultures on Mor’Thal.
Triads are defined by roles or Aspects and might not be an exact match to the associated Deity’s domain.
Judgement Triad
Section titled Judgement TriadThe Judgement Triad is made up of the Aspects of Rule, Defence, and Forgiveness.
The Aspect of Rule defines laws and enforces their upkeep. The Aspect of Defence provides mortals ways to defend their actions and consequences for failing to do so, and the Aspect of Forgiveness provides successful mortals with a sense of closure over the process.
Defence does not have to mean via combat although that is a popular method, it has been recorded that certain Mortals have defended themselves with apologies and acknowledgement of fault.
Fortune Triad
Section titled Fortune TriadThe Fortune Triad is an example of a much more loosely bound Triad. Formed from the Aspects of Faith, Surprise, and Cruelty to teach mortals to expect the unexpected and to stay resilient.
These Aspects work very independently from one-another; mostly because their associated deities don’t like each other very much, but also to avoid any favouritism or bias with good and bad fortunes.
Willpower Triad
Section titled Willpower TriadFormed from the Aspects of Passion, Dedication, and Ideals; their role is to empower mortals with the strength to preserve through hard times and achieve greatness.
The Willpower Triad is another example of a looser triad where the individual Aspects work separately to handle different circumstances rather than as a larger group.
Lesser Deities
Section titled Lesser DeitiesEach of the Gods have delegated parts of their domain to various beings of their creation or tutelage. While still being quite powerful; and definitely more powerful than most mortals could even fathom, they are a clear rung below the Divine Beings.
While the Gods are spread out across various planes of existence, most of the lesser Deities are located on the Prime Material Plane.
Members
Section titled MembersA lesser deity tasked with ensuring the tradition of Christmas is upheld across the planet. It’s believed that Marius noticed similar trends of Mortal parents invented a character to get their children to behave better throughout the years with the promise of presents if they were good and decided to unify them with a real symbol and holiday. A loyal Paladin of his, Nicharus, was elevated to godly status and tasked with spreading the joy of Christmas.
A mysterious entity that appeared shortly after Santa Claus’s elevation to godly status. No Divine Being has taken credit for its creation leading some to believe it was an accident or is a naturally occurring entity on Mor’Thal
Originally a human, she was turned into a snake-human hybrid after trying to double cross Esska and steal her powers.
A powerful, wrathful creature created to aid Devilkind in the Blood War. Asmond says he combined multiple types of blood to create the entity and that can be see by the multitude of forms it can take. It is said that seeing its true form is a fate worse than death.
Once a devout follower of Nubo, it now acts as the eyes and ears of Death and ensuring that all souls pass on as they should. Ra’Vuun guides the souls from the material plane towards the divine planes, while Nubo guides souls to their final resting places after judgement.
Four Mortals horse-riders who attempted to challenge Cator to battle and resorted to underhanded means of victory. As punishment for their dishonourable deeds, they were each merged with their horses and transformed into nightmarish horse-like creatures. Their resentful natures caused their power to grow as did their suffering, to Cator’s surprise. Coming across even one of them is dangerous enough, but all four appearing at once is said to be the end of the world; because of this each steed is named after one of the signs of Armageddon; Champion, Destruction, Starvation, and Ghost.
