Solstice Collective

History
Section titled HistoryBuilt upon the notion that “all are equal and equal are all”, Baric Fostler founded Solstice Collective in the The Shielded Inlands between 200 Ag and 300 Ag. He did this in sole opposition to his sister Lyena Fostler’s founding of Equinox Kingdom based on her belief that rules must be enforced to protect those who need it. Solstice Collective and Equinox Kingdom remained on good terms externally but plotted against each other internally for the coming centuries.
Baric’s name has been lost to history but the civilization he founded initially flourished under his philosophy. People from all classes were given access to basic necessities and allowed to thrive in a new society that protected all that needed it - not just the half-elves it originally intended to. Somewhere along the line of succession however, the leaders of the society became more and more like rulers and before the long a monarchy was voted in by the people of the city. An increasing amount wealth was kept from people further from the influence of the now installed Monarchy of the town. Solstice Collective started to suffer from the same pitfalls it was founded to resolve and it reverted to a largely half-elven based society with a small collective of human and eleven individuals.
By the time Dahlia Montaveron and Stephlen Montaveron were preparing for the marriage of their daughter Lamoira to Darion Stone - the monarchy had outlived anyone alive to see it installed. Dahlia Montaveron was an incredibly popular monarch before the death of her second child, Theo Montaveron. Dahlia Montaveron ceased all public appearances and began operating the society much more authoritarian manner.
Following the murder of Darion Stone by Lamoira, Solstice Collective has been in a political battle against Equinox Kingdom. The Equinox are demanding Lamoira’s execution or temporary control until the execution of another heir can be arranged. Lamoira has evaded arrest for about two months now, last seen moving from town to town headed west towards The Sword Coast.
