Review

The party were informed that Dagult had taken Uganda and another person captive as hostages.
Kellam Oladi told the party about the civil unrest that has taken up much of the resources of the society.
The party attempted to use their combined skills to deduce Dagult’s likeliest location; but were not able to in-time and were sent a visual of Dagult slicing the throat of Halia Thorton.
The party; with even higher urgency, deduced Dagult would not have been able to move between the floating cities due to the strong security those pathways have - rendering his only choice to be to hide on Elrand.
The party located the only open bar in town; “The Broom and the Bean”, and quickly discovered that the bartender was controlled by similar magic that afflicted Lugan Poole.
The party managed to break the control for long enough to find where Dagult was hiding - and somewhat sneakily made their way down the stairs (aside from Alberic)
The party entered the room and begun an operation to extract Uganda from Dagult but not before Alberic was afflicted by Dagult’s supernatural persuasion - leaving his eyes lightless and his body stiff.

Bridge

Re-describe the room and explain the situation as is now present.

You are all in a large stone chamber many floors underground. There are 4 square pillars in the centre of the room that might provide some cover. Dagult is standing in the back of the room and Lamoira is off to the middle left. The room is dimly lit by torches on sconces - just barely enough to see without Darkvision.

Dagult will attempt to go invisible and disrupt the party’s tactics - sowing distrust and dissonance amongst them to his benefit.

Lamoira isn’t in control of her actions - only a puppet for Dagult. She will focus on taking out the squishy targets unless Dagult is threatened - then she will attack whoever is attacking him.

Dagult’s Powers

Upon bringing Dagult below 25% HP - he will start to act more irrationally, speaking to people who aren’t there and screaming “I am absolute - You made a deal!”

Upon landing the killing blow - the party will see a shadowy claw appear our of the ether and pass through Dagult’s body at high speed. No wound can be seen but his eyes are blank white and his mouth gone. A DC17 investigation or arcana check would give the player a hint that Dagult might have had his deal with a Hag revoked - this triggers a flashback for Mike.

You remember a specific day from your youth - you were in a dank and damp chamber that once used to be a prison room you were told. A tall lithe lady wearing white robes appears and instructs you to open the door for your guests. You rush to the door and see a human man enter - wearing brown robes and darker jacket. He’s well-dressed but not anything overly luxurious. He introduces himself as Dagult and states that he wishes to make a deal… The memory starts to fade but before it goes you hear “it shall be known as the Ruining - and you, the Lord Protector.”

Returning to the Royals

If Uganda is returned to the High Court Room safely - the party will be wined and dined and rewarded heavily including 1200 gold pieces to be shared amongst themselves and a bag of gems worth 200 gold. They are also promised travel to wherever in the world they are planning on heading to next. However, they are asked to return their Wyng communicator; barring one to be used to notify the when and where of this favour, and the populous of Phandalin are asked to leave Amylthas. Uganda is given the option to stay with his family by his mother give Leon the choice to make a new character.

The election continues?

The election will not occur.

Vok and Loogan are both uninterested in winning after the events that have occurred; both scared for their lives.
Andel Yon will reveal himself as the musician Ander Praze in disguise and recuse himself from contention.
Halia Thorton; if not killed by Dagult before the parties arrival, will be killed by Lamoira as a show of force and Dagult’s power of persuasion.
This leaves the city of Phandalin in a pickle as there are suddenly no candidates to take the role.
The party are asked by Harbin to either convince Adabra Gywnn to take the role or find a suitable alternative. DC15 persuasion.
- Alternatively; if Lamoira is alive at the end of the conflict - it is possible to suggest her for the position.
- Randall; Halia’s assistant, is also out of work now given her death, her estate being closed and managed by whomever her foreign benefactor was. Randall will accept the position if asked by Harbin might take some convincing if the party mention that he used to work for Halia. A DC 14 insight check will show that Harbin is giving away that he feared Halia wanted to overthrow him as well.
Returning to Adabra once anyone has claimed the title of Townmaster’s Hand will reward the party with 300 gold and a level up to level 4. Offer the players a chance to re-roll their hit-dice

Ander Praze approaching Leodel and saying he’d really appreciate if they all came along to Neverwinter with him, having been kicked out of his Hometown.

Zomon Truthtaker has left a letter in Halia’s study for Alberic - telling the story of one of his prophetic dreams

I’m standing on the edge of a cliff. The waves are crashing, breaking, and water is spraying onto my face. The next moment I’m in a field of flowers and light green grass. I’m as peaceful as I’ve ever known the concept. The moment that I give into the peace - I hear a foreboding voice penetrate my mind and my soul. “Beware… The Violet Horde arrives.” and suddenly all I see is destruction. A wave of monstrosities; far worse than an fiend or fae creature could dream of becoming, rolling towards me and consuming everything in their path. The world - torn to shreds around me and I am helpless to do a thing. The last thing I see before I myself and consumed is a pale man with purple fire in his eyes, wearing a white mask that covers his face barring his mouth. “We’ve taken too much time to get around to cleaning up this mess.” is all I hear and feel before I am forced awake.

If Fill is attentive; he can find Kellam hiding in the Underground Funhouse and probe him for information should he wish. Kellam will not give information without receiving any of value first.
